As a national company awarded, contena Poteet Architects is best known for his sensitive adaptation reuse of existing buildings and a new and rigorous approach to modern interior design. This project arose from the desire of the customer to experiment with shipping containers. She lives in a small warehouse in an old industrial area just south of the city. The finished project serves as an guesthouses and is equipped with shower / toilet and a custom stainless sink. The steel and glass lift / slide and end in a window wall at the open end of the interior with the surrounding landscape. The rest of the interior is used as a garden shed. It was emphasis on sustainable strategies session, recycling contena "one-way" container for a new permanent use. The vegetation cover is held on top of the container, providing shade and airflow to reduce heat gain. The interior is insulated with spray foam, lined with bamboo wood, also suitable for the floor and walls. Grey water from the sink and shower are captured for watering the roof. The toilet is a composting toilet. The rear of the container is going through the wire mesh panels that will eventually be covered with evergreen contena vias.
